| The Expandable Customer Resource Center is the single most valuable source of information on the Expandable system. In addition to being the repository of all the Expandable user manuals, the Resource Center features special tutorials and workflows that provide role-based directions for performing specific job functions in Expandable. |
| For instance, Expandable customer support recently took a series of calls from customers asking how to perform cost rollups. As an example of what you will find on the Resource Center, view the following document on Cost Rollups that's available in the Workflow section of the product documentation: |
Standard Cost Rollup Procedure |
| Here's is an outline of the valuable information you’ll find in the Customer Resource Center: |
| User Documentation: The complete set of user manuals is arranged by functional area and broken into chapters with tables of contents to easily locate the information you need. These essential training documents are updated regularly to reflect the latest enhancements made to the system.
Support Notes: These tutorials from customer support are an assortment of role-based training materials covering the major functional groups in Expandable. Use these notes to identify Expandable-recommended best practices for performing common tasks like closing month end, processing RMAs, using the planning workbench, creating Favorites Menus, setting up Information Links, and much more.
WorkFlows: The Work Flows are short "how to" references that outline procedures for performing various functions within Expandable (like cost roll-ups, job scheduling and cycle counting). You can use these WorkFlows as a guide to create your own Favorites Menu items.
Technical Notes: The Technical Notes summarize and provide solutions to remedy some of the most common error messages for Expandable, SQL, FRx and Crystal Reports. Useful tips and installation information can also be found in the Technical Notes. |
| If you don’t know your company’s login and password to the Resource Center, ask your Primary Expandable Support Contact or call Expandable customer support at (408) 247-3300. |
 |
| Expandable offers a free introductory training class to all new users of the system. The "Expandable for New Users" class is held at the beginning of each month and is targeted to new hires who will be using Expandable at existing customer sites. |
| The two-hour class is presented online using LiveMeeting and features the same great instructor-led experience as the rest of the Expandable classes. |
| Registration is available through the Expandable website. Visit the class schedule for times and dates. |
  |
| The latest version of Expandable, v8.4, has been released and is now available to download from the Download Library of the Expandable Customer Resource Center. |
| No More "Out of User Licenses" Error |
| Those who have experienced running out of user licenses because users open multiple sessions of Expandable without logging out will appreciate the new feature that only counts a user once regardless of the number of times the user is logged into Expandable on the same client. |
| Kit from Multiple Storerooms at the Same Time |
| Have you ever wished you could kit from whichever storerooms your parts are located so you wouldn't have to exit the Kit Shortage Editor to transfer all your parts into one storeroom? |
| In past releases of Expandable you were restricted to kitting from one Storeroom at a time even if you had parts in another Storeroom. With v8.4 you have the option to remove the job's Kit From Stores restriction. |
| Top Level Now Shown on the MRP Pegging |
| How many times have you reviewed your MRP report and looked at the pegging of a component that is four levels down in the bill of material and wished you could see the top level to which it is pegged? |
| Your request has been answered in version 8.4. All you have to do is check the new Top Level Pegging Information selection option on the Material Requirements report and the report will display the normal pegging next level up as well as the Top Level (view sample in PDF format). |
| Purge Unsuccessful Check Runs |
| Have you ever experienced a printer jam while making a check run and have your check run turn into a nightmare? With Expandable v8.4 you can now verify your check runs before updating and purge any that do not complete successfully. |
