Expandable GreenTech Customer Hosts President Obama at Townhall Meeting
President Barack Obama recently held a townhall-style meeting at ElectaTherm, an Expandable customer located in Reno, NV. The president’s visit on April 21 was part of the “Shared Responsibility and Shared Prosperity” campaign to promote clean energy.
Speaking in front of ElectraTherm’s innovative machine that produces renewable energy from low-temperature heat waste, the president gave a 30-minute address then took questions from the crowd of 425 invited guests that included many ElectraTherm employees.
During his address, Obama congratulated ElectraTherm for being “a fine example of a clean energy company that’s been growing leaps and bounds over the last few years.”
“When you’re talking about waste heat,” said President Obama, “every business, every industry, is generating some sort of energy byproduct, some sort of heat. It’s going up in smokestacks and nobody is using it. And the question is, can we capture that energy and use it in a smart way? That’s what ElectraTherm is all about.”
ElectraTherm is a clean energy company headquartered in Reno, Nevada. Its product, the Green Machine, generates fuel-free, emission-free power from low to mid temperature waste heat using the Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) and patented technology. The company was founded in 2005 and currently has 12 units in the field. |
