Silicon Valley Expandable Users Meeting
By Jerry O'Conner, IEUGA Board Member
Expandable Software, Inc. held a very successful San Francisco Bay Area Users Group meeting at the Santa Clara Tech Mart on October 21, 2009.
Over 90 people were in attendance representing over 40 companies using Expandable software in the San Francisco Bay Area.
The Agenda included:
  • Release 8.4.1, coming in November and the Software Development Roadmap
  • Time Saving Expandable Navigation Tips
  • Report Manager Features and Setup
  • Job Costing, Job Work Flow including tracking Project Costs using the Engineering Jobs feature of Expandable
  • Reporting and Data Analysis Tools
  • Expandables’ support for 3rd party CRM and other Applications
  • FRX Reporting
  • Expandable Alerts-an Automation Tool for Expandable
  • The Executive Information Module, including a new Module coming for High Level Reporting and Graphing of current Company Metrics.
  • Discussion of the Expandable Web Site including Support Notes, the Training Schedule and other Customer Resource Availability
  • Bar Coding, RF Scanning and Data Collection
  • Open Forum and Meeting Wrap Up
Although this meeting was organized and funded by Expandable, there was a general interest in developing an ongoing local Expandable users group where information on the operation and best practices could be shared for using the Expandable ERP system and complementary applications.
Suggestions for doing this on an ongoing basis included a 2-3 hour dinner meeting or lunch meetings once a month where we could cover one topic.  These could be held in a local hotel for a reasonable charge.  We may have users at larger companies that have larger conference facilities and would be willing to host an occasional meeting.
Watch for an email in November to gauge the interest and survey for interests.
