the single most-used software tool in the business world. Using
ODBC, you can import Expandable data to Excel pivot tables.

a dozen reports with a single pivot table and let users view
the right information in the mode that makes most sense to them. |

Product lifecycle
management (PLM) technology provides a means for managing product
data in a single, secure location. PLM is helping companies
improve their overall product development process by improving
communication, eliminating inefficiencies and reducing development
cycles. Integration between ERP and PLM systems offers instant
access to the most current product data, delivering the visibility
necessary to effectively manage bill of materials (BOMs), engineering
changes (ECOs), documentation, and product data.
With the interface to Expandable, you can manage your ECO process
in the Omnify PLM system, electronically communicating change
requirements for fast review and approval. Omnify Softwares
bi-directional integration with Expandable offers a single database
to combine your engineering and business data, allowing you
to publish item master data, vendor data, BOM, and ECO/Change
information to Expandable as well as read data from Expandable
(Costs, Inventory, Status, Vendor data) into Omnify. This session
will review the concept and benefits of integrating ERP and
PLM environments. |

DeWolf shows how Powerway® Document Manager provides secure
document and data control, document revision history and a distinct
audit trail for each document. |
|
|
 |
| Critical email
alerts can be overlooked when delivered into a mail box full

in a central location where your employees, business partners
or other key constituents can monitor events using a web browser. |

 |
| It's hard to
get excited about a technology that pundits claimed would disappear
when XML was released to the supply chain community, yet Electronic
Data Interchange (EDI) has retained enormous staying power.
Many suppliers are learning that in order to continue serving
major customers, they need to embrace this mature, yet sometimes
intimidating technology. This session, presented by Mark Kraus
of Tom's of Maine, will present the basic elements and concepts
behind EDI the acronyms used, the software required
and will explore options for implementing EDI at your organization. |
|

 |
| The European
Union has been leading the world-wide drive for the electronics
industry to become more environmentally friendly. Through directives
like Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) we are being asked (or told)
to design product differently and to manage the entire product
lifecycle from an environmentally conscious perspective. |
Supplier and
component selection is no longer just a supply chain issue;
it now becomes a potential legal and market issue as well. How
does this impact product design? What are the data management
issues? What can you do to make sure your products comply? How
can your company turn this into a competitive advantage? Michael
Kirschner of consultancy Design Chain Associates walks you thought
the challenges and opportunities.
